I think from my driving with Garmin installed that the GPS on my 800w is not standalone. It works outdoors where my phone works, but not outdoors where my phone does not.
Palm says 800 has standalone. Maybe they have standalone the new Pro model and mixed up their statements between the Pro and the 800? I sent Palm a note asking.
