I have been playing with Kinoma on & off now that I have it at least half way working. I have decided that unless I can turn off the scan totally I will be unable to use this awesome program.
The scan is an absolute deal-breaker unfortunately. I had saved an awesome youtube video (a live StevieRay Vaughn clip) as a favorite in Kinoma & wanted to show it to my Wife.
Tonight, I had my phone sitting in a cradle on my kitchen table & was in no great hurry so I started Kinoma & was waiting out the scan to show her the video. The problem is, 40 minutes later it was still scanning & the Wife had gone out by that time.
Kinoma's support is very responsive & is working with me to correct this. I REALLY hope they provide a way to turn off the scan (which I have no use for whatever) because then it would be a killer app.
I was A/B ing Skyfire & Kinoma tonight for youtube & I can say there is no comparison, Kinoma blows away Skyfire for perfect youtube playback. The Kinoma youtube image is
WAY better than Skyfire & it full screens the video's automatically as opposed to trying to get it right with Skyfire's awful zoom feature..
If I can have Kinoma work minus the scanning, I would delete Skyfire from my system & use Opera Mobile & Kinoma exclusively.
