Oh I called and called VZW on it and even went as far as talking with thier presidential office several times with no resolution as they would not send me a different device unless I re-committed to another 2 yrs. I finally got so tired of it all that I had it replaced a 4th time with a new 67 and it also had vibe issues and finally I got my hands on a 68. Did I turn in any of those phones? No I did not and why should I? I Paid for each one of them plus the cost of the monthly insurance and because I paid for them thet are mine. Each one was 50 bux. What sense does it make to pay 50 bux for a phone as a rental fee until the it messes up and I have to pay another 50 for another phone and turn back in my last phone so they can 'refurb' it and resell it? That to me is extortion my friend. Some people in that line of work call is business but on my end, thats not what i call it.
What you do is certainly defensible and I would say it's ethical. Keeping a legitimately defective phone when they send you a replacement for $50 while keeping insurance intact the entire time seems reasonable to me.
