My Thoughts Exactly!

Quote:
Not that I'd reccomend a 700p to anyone but the most weakminded of fools who chants "but I like the treo's form factor and I dont want to learn a new os, and I have $xx.xx dollars wrapped up in palm software."

The treo 700p is almost as good as the treo 650 that we were promised to get two years ago, minus of course the wifi. Why palm thinks they can keep thier userbase by releasing a "new" product that is very slightly better than a 2 year old device is beyond my imagination. An since the 700p even falls short of the original conceptual specs of the treo 650, that makes the 700p technically two years old on the day it was released. I consider it to only be a revision in the treo 650's long path to fixing the bugs that should have been fixed shortly after its initial release. Why anyone would buy from that kind of company, or worse yet, expect that company to stay in buisness, is also beyond my imagination.
We were discussing Shadowmite leaving his 6700 to go to a 700p when spymongoose posted this. I thought it was the most well written "anti-palm" statements I have heard, and I just had to tell someone. I asked permission to post it on other sites and he agreed so here you go.
