It can be flashed via RUU as long as you revert back to 1.2.....but it will cause a hard reset also.......
Also after seeing Weedahoe's method I would definetely try that as opposed to reverting back even though there is no harm.....a few less steps though....
Weed does it hard reset it?......Very interesting way of doing it.....how did you come up with that way.....
But in my opinion the easiest way is SD card.....takes about 2 minutes and no hard reset....
