I was at a training and one of the other people there had it. The Maroon was a very very dark color, and it accented the phone very nicely. It was darker than even the 755p.
Also, the sprint icons and such are just a theme. You can go back to the standard htc theme, which I plan on doing because I think the old school alarm clock look for the time is awesome.
