Re: Titan 20270

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. If you search, or just click on the "Visit Homepage" link when you hover over most of the apps in BuildOS, you'll find the .zip and .cab files for most of the apps on their respective websites. In many cases you'll actually find updated versions of what is included in BuildOS. Some of the apps you need to load from your PC through WMDC, but most of them are just .cab files that you can download to your memory card and install from there to the device. That's what I've done a few times, especially if I'm looking for updated versions of apps that are in the kitchen. dotFred task Manager, Google Maps, HTC Home Customizer... those are a few that I have on my card right now. Once you run the .cab and install it on the device it works just the same. The caveat is that if and when you ever do a hard-reset, you lose everyhting you installed. If it's not cooked into your ROM, it's gone and you have to re-install again. As far as where to put the files, anywhere on your memory card is fine, as long as you know where it's at. I just created a DL Apps directory and everyhting goes in there. When you run the .cab, the program installs itself on the device where it needs to be.
