The 800w does have a battery problem: it's 12-16 hours instead of my desired 16-24
hours on a phone that powerful. That could only be accomplished with a larger battery.
The E90, which has a 1500 mAh battery easily lasts 2 days doing more. There is no
magic here.
Complete agreement here. I got my 800w a couple of weeks ago and checked a few 800w forums when I saw my battery was not holding up. People were saying it needed conditioning which is not true. If anything every single cycle lowers your battery capacity on this type of battery. It will never work better than the first full charge.

I have been tweaking every setting, turning off all the features, which is not exactly fun since I purchased the 800W for the features. Still the battery does not last a full business day.

People seem to think Palm was pursuing a thin form factor, maybe with an obsession over the iPhone, and this blinded them to designing the 800W for a proper battery for a WM6.1 with all these features. I agree.

An 1800 mAh battery would have had no effect on the footprint and add maybe 1 to 1.5 mm to the thickness, about 7 or 8 grams in weight, and about $2 to Palm's battery purchase cost. The 800W would then work as it should through a business day. It is after all sold as a business user handset.
