After much fighting on my laptop I was unable to get activesync to install (complete crap program right there.) It has been installed on one of my desktop PCs for a few years and always worked fine with several WM devices I've had, and suddenly decided it doens't want to connect to the phone anymore. The computer knows it has something plugged in, knows what it is, but activesync just searches and fails to find a device. The partial good news is that computer I have had success building a rom in but unable to flash to the phone due to non-connective issues. Tried seven different computers, all will connect with the phone but every single one has an error installing or opening buildos, or BuildOS has an error and fails to build the rom. This has completely worn me out and I don't know what to do from here. Since my one desktop had success in building the rom can I copy that over to another PC and do the flash? I've searched through every directory in the Builder program folder and am not able to locate the rom image.
Computer that had success with rom is a P4-3.0ghz w/2048mb dual channel ddr running a terrible misfunctioning copy of XP-Pro. Computer that fails on the build is an Athlon64 4000+ with 2048 ddr2 running XP-Pro64.

You can find the rom in "my documents/buildos ruu", complete with ruu to use to flash it. Feel free to copy to another computer.
As to BuildOS, make sure .Net 2.0 SP1 or newer is installed, and you are using latest installer (
http://ppckitchen.org/downloads/buildos.msi). BuildOS is known to work on 64 bit platforms. If you still have trouble, find me in the chat room.
