No offense to you, either, but did you even look over the manual for your phone?

A windows mobile phone is not unlike a tiny little PC, with a phone glued to it. Like a PC, when it's not doing what you expect it to do, the first thing you can try is to "reboot" it. That's called a soft-reset. A HARD reset is a bit like reformatting and then re-installing your operating system on your PC.

Soft reset -- no data loss
Hard reset -- gives you that "new car" smell
