GPS is available with a stock rom. And, you can add a working MSVC by buying it.
Now on to the tired, old battery drain complaint. Here, let me compare your stats that you gathered with the tests I have run. Oh, wait, I don't see any emperical evidence. Hmmm, that must make it difficult to actually determine if there is a battery drain problem correct? FWIW, I idle at less than 100mA which is more than acceptable.
