Unfortunately you are wrong. It depends on who you deal with. Of course those MAY be the company rules but employees are able to bend them ALL the time. If your phone has cosmetic damage why can't someone just say the phone doesn't work properly? I have taken my phones in many times for damage and the techs don't even crack the phone open they just ask me whats wrong with it and replace it.
