After reading the post from smb on 07/20/2008, stating the same, I have been preparing to have to purchase new phones for the switch. I think that stinks because Qwest should be offing much better replacements.

Qwest has always said the phones will be "comparable". I have a Mogul and I do not find either phone comparable. My son has a Katana II, the agent I spoke to today stated that he will have the choice of an LG 5400 or Samsung U410. For anyone who has a Samsung A920, the choices are an LG 8350 or a Samsung U550. Hopefully these are subject to change.

I am personally looking forward to the switch to Verizon because of the MMS capabilities they have on their version of the Mogul (XV6800) and for the Samsung I760. However, I don't agree with Qwests definition of "comparable", and I remain quite disappointed over their replacement phones.

Qwest, in an attempt to soften the blow, was quick to remind me that we will be getting a 25% discount if we do not chose one of the offered replacement phones. They also stated that Mailers were going out today in certain areas to start the Migration. They did not confirm what regions were getting the notices first. And that a team of agents will be calling Stand Alone cell phone customers first asking if you want to switch.
I'm going to ask them if we can have Voyagers, which are the closest replacement phones. I don't need their data plan anymore, and the Voyager is only $20 more with a two year contract. I'll gladly pay the $40 to get me and my husband into those phones. I don't want an EnV, I agree they suck, and the BlackBerry was NEVER meant to interface with me. If I have to pay for a whole Voyager for my husband it will be worth it to me; he carries a Katana, and there's no comparable replacement that would make him happy.

No, the Voyager is the best bet, and if they make me pay for it, I'll remember that at my next sign up. And there won't be one. But if they accommodate me, they'll probably get to keep me.
My migration is supposed to take place on Wednesday, someone is supposed to call me. But I'll be calling them on Wednesday morning because my working hours have changed. i'll let you guys know how it goes.

At least they're trying to accommodate their existing customers. I thought, and said, a while back that they might not, but it looks like someone finally talked sense into them.
