I believe they are different. My original phone had the leaked Official release that didnt have the "test rom..." on boot. Yesterday I got a replacement phone and updated the ROM to the HTC Official one on their site. I then made a back up of my original phone and restored it over to the replacement phone. These are 3 things I noticed. First, when I tried to restore to my new phone SPB saw it a different rom. Second thing, after restore, Beejive kept giving me a windows/system connection failure and would not open. I uninstalled and reinstalled it but same issue. Maybe it's a corrupted backup so I restore the backup on to the old phone and sure enough it opens no issue. Third thing I found was when creating new SMS and I try enter a name by using Touchpal. On the old phone with the leaked version, the list of names show up behind the Start bar and makes it impossible to select the top names. On the new phone with official rom the list goes over the Start bar allowing me to choose any names on the list.

So far these are the only difference I found which lead me to believe that they are different somehow.
