Re: AstroGPSLauncher - Launch Tomtom/iGuidance/Other

I still use Astro GPS launcher with TomTom 7, I have read that people find they dont need it to "prime the GPS" but I already had it set up anyways in my personal oem. The biggest problem is most people creating OEM's for kitchens keep all the files in the Windows directory but if you install the program they generally install in a program files\... folder. The shortcuts I posted in the zips point to the default install directory if you installed by cab or cd. etc. I always set up my OEM's to install in the correct or defualt directorys that way my shortcuts will always work.

I have been picking up a fix within about 5-20 seconds even after a fresh build. I do not change any settings in TomTom 7 or in the GPS settings on the PPC. The first time I installed TT7 from a cab the first fix took about 30-40 seconds for some reason so you may just need to hang out outside for a little while to help it get that first fix.

my settings are:
in TT7 selected "Built-in GPS receiver"
In External GPS Settings
Programs tab - GPS Program port is COM4
Hardware tab - GPS hardware port is (none) and baud rate is 4800
in access tab - Manage GPS automatically... is checked

*Edit: I have attached the "initflashfiles.txt" files I use in each OEM that directs the OEM to install the programs in their correct directories when you build a kitchen. Simply unzip these files in your corresponding OEM folders.
