As a Verizon user I would use the kitchen tomake your own and if you don't have the time for that just use a rom that is verizon specific, there are a few out there. I have used both OMJ and DHarvey and both are great.
Unless you do something dumb
your phone won't stop working. I work in IT and am required to be avaialble for calls and text alerts 24/7 and I never run into any issues getting my calls/messages. If anything I find that Mobile 6.1 is better and allows me to be more productive (more Outlook options) and I bet Verizon is never going to release an update or wait an extemely long time.
