If you are in florida like me it doesn't work well for me either. I'm in Nepal on google maps. I downloaded a program called Beeline GPS that shows the satelites and will eventually get a lock 20-40 min outside. I traveled to chicago and atlanta and got gps locks within 1 min or less and it was the s*it with google maps. I don't know why it doesnt seem to work well in my home area. Try beeline gps and be patient.
