Maybe you might find the problem reported in that thread, or if not ask there for some help? Worth a shot.
I think the issue (as already stated) is related to the HTC Home plugin. The plugin puts the battery indicator in the title bar regardless of rom so I'm thinking perhaps its conflicting with whatever icon advanced config/nurom is using.
