That allows me to then install the programs that I choose, not someone else.... and the included sprint interface is great for dumb people like me...

HOWEVER the clean rom 3.5 needs some fixes...
Here are a few known ones that seem to be a case for most people:

+ active sync is left running and drains the battery fast
(I'm having NO issues with battery drain, it is much better than before actually... )

+Modem over USB does not work "COM OPEN ERROR"

+Internet sharing does not work "CHECK USB CABLE"

+Unable to turn off advanced network functions "Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial"

+Built in mms does not work (not received at other end) ... (I suggest taking this out and providing the mms program w/ sprint settings seperate, but zipped with the rom.

-many of the other reported problems seem to be due to people not hard reseting after flashing, or conflicts with third party programs.

I do not know how to cook and would not be able to figure out these bugs... however if ANYONE can try to fix these issues and issue an updated "clean" rom of 3.5 for sprint, it would be damn near perfect!!!

Please, any of you awesome cookers out there, can you tackle the problems in the clean&simple for sprint 3.5 rom and re-release it???
I'm begging!!!! I love the usb modem as a back-up, but at the same time I love how 'stripped/clean' and fast this rom build is. Any takers on this challenge?
Nope. There's not a thing we can do about any of these problems using the kitchen I used. They're known bugs. Take 'em or leave 'em. The ROM project will eventually release a kitchen that fixes these, but it's currently password protected and not for redistribution.

Reminds me of an old buddhist parable. A man goes to see the buddha in hopes that the great teacher can solve his problems. He tells the buddha, "I'm a farmer, and I enjoy farming, but sometimes my yields aren't what I'd like, when it rains too much. And my kids, they're good kids, but sometimes they don't respect me enough and they don't do what say. And my wife, she's a good wife, I love her, but sometimes she does things I wish she wouldn't do..."

The man goes on like that for a while and the buddha listens patiently. Finally, the man wraps up. "So that's it. What can you do for me?"

The buddha says simply, "Nothing. I can't help you with any of that."

The man gets angry. "I thought you were supposed to be some great teacher!" he says. "You were supposed to be this guru, and you can't help me with any of my problems? What good, then, are your teachings?"

"You don't understand," says the buddha. "Everybody has problem. 83 of them, as a matter of fact. Everyone has 83 problems. If you work really hard on one of them you might be able to ultimately solve it, but another one will show up and you'll be right back to having 83 problems."

The buddha thinks for a minute and says, "But perhaps I can help you with the 84th problem."

"What's the 84th problem?" asks the man.

Says the buddha, "That you want not to have any problems."
