you still use htc home .... it causes like a huge memory leak that you cannot get back .... the brightness is adjustable in the rom but what you're saying is that it doesn't work with HTC Home .... that is because home is looking for the HTC Backlight control panel ... I removed this since the updated power control also can control the backlight settings in your htc home registry try to redirect the brightness shortcut to powerexe.exe
