This is very insightful. I think anyone with Pocket Hack Master overclocking will know there are a dozen different things to tweak. My guess is that one of them drastically increases speed. CPU speed itself has little if any effect on the xfer rate. So the idea that it is cpu related tough to swallow. It is like they are using a 9600 serial port inside to xfer data from one side to the other of the main board. Microsoft was definitely in the "all you need is 640K" zone when designing this.
