Well, I didn't bring my USB cable home from work, so couldn't try this. After not being able to sync with mail2web through activesync for the past few hours of trying, I decided to uncheck the box that selects an encrypted (SSL) connection. It then worked!
So all I've done is isolate that it worked when an encrypted connection is not used. Still not sure if this is related to Pre8, or if mail2web servers are having trouble tonight with encrypted connections.
