I agree with the hard reset and as said earlier yes it will delete everything but at the same time if you are using a OEM ROM than just changing the dialer screen and a few 3rd party apps wont void any warranty. I also am interested to know why you are sending it back. If you filed a claim for a new device then why not just keep it for parts or give/sell it someone who needs parts?
