I'm working on porting wm6 to the apache. So far all anyone can work off of is the leaked incomplete beta wm6 that was adapted to the wizard and universal devices.

I've made progress, completely rebuilt the xip and have been able to get the apache to boot with the wm6 core, but not in a useable form. I haven't been able to get it to make it to the welcome/setup screen yet.

Porting an aku to a device is relatively easy. In this case, we're not porting an aku, we're porting a whole new os, although granted it is considered a minor version release (5.1 to 5.2) rather than 5.1 to 6.

A number of us working on porting wm6 feel we're wasting our time as within a year a real major release will be out, WM7 code named Photon.

I'm going to continue working but there are so many variables and combinations to try, that it is possible I may eventually give up as the developers working on other devices have. The core, the kernel, the registry hives, the rom modules...you can have 106 things right and 1 wrong and it won't boot properly.

So, for now, I'm still working on porting wm6 to the apache. I have over 40 hours into it so far.
