I've had this happen after I completely drained the battery. Even after I charged it, it would refuse to turn on if it was not connected to the charger. I got it to work again with a soft reset and then pressing the power button. This has only happened once.

I have noticed several times where it's a very latent to turn back on. This was usually after I had been using it for very long periods of time. I have a feeling it might have to do with overheating as the phone is usually very hot at that point.
