I had the same issue. Verizon Techs were useless. What I ended up doing was going into my verizonwireless account online and activated my old phone (vx8100). The site told me that the PDA data plan I had was not valid for that phone, so it removed it. Then I went back, and activated the XV6900, added the data plan back in, and did the *228 thing. Both voice and data came back and have been working fine since. This was after upgrading to the new radio, trying some very bad ideas, completely hosing my phone, bringing it back to the stock radio and original Verizon ROM, then upgrading the radio and image again. Using this method, I didn't even have to do the #8877 thing to get voice working again. BTW, this was all within the first 36 hours of having the phone... That was a wild couple of days!
