it's a seperate program. You need the tomtom program (sounds like you already have the maps) and the "GPS Viewer" program.

There's nothing you need to know about GPS viewer. Just do this: install it, run it, choose com 4 (also setup com4 in preferences in TomTom), alternate between pressing cold, warm, and hot buttons until you have satellite lock. You know if you have satellite lock within GPS viewer by clicking the 2nd tab and seeing if the satellites are blue color. Then leave GPS viewer running and start tom tom. Pretty easy!
