Re: nueSPL-2.47
Hi All,
!st Post - been doing a lot of reading on all this upgrade rom stuff. Not sure that these questions belong in this thread - but it seems like a reasonable place to me - so here goes.
My question(s) from this thread is based on this statement:
************************************************** **********
DO NOT USE with a NON GPS RADIO (2.xx). Only use with GPS RADIOS (3.xx). A version check will be added soon
************************************************** **********
Are these radio or rom versions? What about pre 2.xx on a VZW xv600 - mine shows 1.30.60 for the radio and 2.09.605.8 for rom? Both of these are stock from what I can tell and Verizon shows now current updates on their support pages.
It seems there are so many variations and variables that it hard for a noob, technical as I may be, to figure out which is the correct path and sequence for the greatest chance of success.
So, from my stock xv6800 via activesync 4.5 connection:
1) Run Hard-SPL-MFG ver 2.4 (alt: titan_SPL_2.4-olipro)
2) Run Titan_Radio_ROM_3.42.30
3) Run a VZW custom rom ruu_signed.nbh (like NO2Chem's nueROM v2.1 build 5069-k)
4) Remove battery and re-boot.
No for some more questions: I've also come across TitanUnlocker.exe from olipro I think, Is this the same or does it basically do the same thing as the Hard-SPL?
I've also seem some threads that recommend running a dcd Verizon Carrier 20080706.cab - does this need to be done? What will it do? Pro's? Con's?
Also, through all this upgrading stuff, what happens to the Microsoft programs - that's not very clear to me either? I have been using wireless sync to Outlook - will I be able to continue with this? Do the custom roms suppport the office tools? Do you have to do the OfficeMobile_Licensed_0409_US.msi to patch it? Are there any licensing issues/problems associated - Microsoft seem to be getting more picky my the day.
So, what's the advice typically given or alternatives that work equivalently?
Thanks so much to all those who have contributed their insights so far in so so many threads. Especially No2Chem, olipro, ImCoKeMaN, dishe, quanumforce1, & cornelius2. Also thanks to those who have created roms - you've given me many choices to decide upon - but what glorious frustration.
BTW - anyone done a utube of this upgrade process on a xv6800? Guess I'll go do some more searching....
Thanks in advance for your responses to my noob questions. (whew - more than I expected to write)
