Yep you're correct. For now that's the FB functionality, but we've definitely thought about what you're suggesting. Going to happen in the near future.

Can't tell you too much in terms of system resources on specific devices. Might run into a small problem when your either inititally syncing or syncing large amounts of data. Day to day though shouldn't be too much of drain.
