i think you are right about the baud rate. just this rate just mean it updates /gets more info faster?

btw tested OMJs rom, didnt get one lock after leaving it on, soft reseting, or taking out battery, unfortunate. Ghettos rom provided very quick locks so far at home, like 5 seconds the first time and 3-30s after. but the real test if testing outside of home when i really need it, and where it usually never worked hehe. anyway Internet Connection Sharing also worked out of the box so i recommend his rom. just needs some tweeks. havent tried JDs newest rom yet.

i used Quick GPS initially i think to update sat info. GPS Speed Sentry or latest Holux GPS Viewer on their website to prime for google maps/live search.
i always see the GpsViewer.PPC300_2577.cab which i think is the 1200 1.5 version i saw posted in this thread... but i was tempted and used this one that doesnt look like it is for PPC that i saw on Holux's website and it ran on my vx6900 and it worked/looks better, i think it was released a few days ago...

note once GPSViewer gets a lock, it always freezes the screen on my system. so u can tell by looking at the time and noticing its frozen. I usually tab to Setup and back to GPS status to see updated lock. EDIT: GPS Speed Sentry gives me quickest locks so far. GPSViewer looks like its misbehaving a lil'.
