Re: Verizon to be first with 4G in the US!!??

This thread is hilarious.

Sprint=Wimax (Comcast is a large share holder along with others, don't get excited killing comcast)
Verizon=LTE, Next gen replacement over the 700 mhz spectrum they recently acquired from the fcc
AT&T=LTE, next gen also over some spectrum from teh fcc
TMobile=Nothing official but most suspect LTE as well

LTE seems to be the route all of the European GSM behemoths are taking, but it is further behind in development than wimax. There is no AT&T/Verizon collaboration, but I guess there is always the possibility in roaming agreement.? Wimax has an advantage in being to the market earlier, but a disadvantage in that with less carriers adopting this technology, hardware manufacturers may see it as not profitable enough, and focus on LTE. (This would probably take place after LTE has established itself as a dominating winner, and be more of a nail in the coffin for wimax (if it happens.)
