I had this happen to me on Saturday. I spent 3 hours on a chat session with Sprint with no resolution. After the tech found out that I had disabled HTC Home and Sprint Home he told me that what ever I had loaded to replace it was causing the problem and told me to unload it. The problem with this advice is that I had not changed my phone in months and I have the orginal ROM. The only new application I added was SPB Backup, replacing Sprite Backup. The other Today plugins I have, which I loaded the day I received my phone in January, are TodayAgenda and WeatherPanel. In January or Feburary I replaced the stock Cube with Vista Cube 2.0. Some time before March I installed Vista Dialer.

Will yesterday, Sunday, I was able to access Messaging (Email and Texting). On Saturday I did a hard reset three times and that did not work. I gave up and desided to take my phone to Sprint on Sunday. When I woke up Sunday afternoon and tried to access Messaging everything worked.
