You want to know why I say that? Because I am the IT Manager of a big company and yet I never went to school for it. Well, I tried. But it doesn't pay off to go to college, drink like a fish, and have off the charts ADHD. So I read, I asked questions of peers (and was told to read), and learned pretty much everything I know on my own (by reading).
So I am big on self-teaching, because if I am any indication, it works.
