Pidney beat me to the link, but about that hidebar thing...doesn't it also remove my contacts lookup field?
If so, how do you guys usually initiate a phone call to one of the contacts?

The contacts look-up is hidden, but it works normally. You just start typing on the keyboard and it appears - automagically!
