It's possible if it's a MS play to keep people (who now *have* to buy a new phone to get WM6 anyway, and could just say "bugger that, I'll get me an iPhone") in the MS camp. I could really see that as a reason.

So MS pushes (er, gives for free) WM6 to the OEMs and helps them decide to roll it out for recent keyboard phones, ditto for the carriers, as a market share play.

Possible, anyway.
