I would check with the company that made ur router. I had a similar problem trying to get my mac hooked up onto a router I got. Now this is going to be really hard to believe, but you wanna know what the fix was? I had to add a $ sign before my password! This wasn't in the manual at all(and yes, the router specs listed it as Mac compatible)!

So, quite possibly, it might just be something obscure like that.
