Did you just flash to a new ROM? The first time you run a GPS program it takes a long time to lock on. After that it shouldn't take as long, but your millage will vary. Sometimes you'll lock on quick and other times it might take a few minutes. I find that as you use your GPS more your phone will lock on quicker over time. My phone used to take a while, but now I seem to lock on fairly quickly most of the time when I'm running Garmin XT.
