Sprint can't find it's backside with 2 hands and a flashlight. They sure don't send the AKU with every tcp/ip packet.
Nope. They have no way of knowing, nor should they care. It's your phone, you bought it, do whatever you want with it.

However, unless hell has frozen over, I'm banking on that not happening before summer, if ever. MS may push this hard if they're doing it for iPhone anti-
PR, which is not a bad idea... but MS is the only one who could force the carriers to do this... otherwise they don't want us upgrading without buying a new handset.
