do not save your mail to card, at least automatically (auto download attachments.)
also finding some wood to knock on... have never had serious corruption on a sd card, but then again all mine have been Sandisk. usb drives are a different story however..

I let my phone go to sleep, since the Vogue would get zero battery life... With all my other precautions, i tend not to have any issues with corruption...
