Follow-up: Just got back from the repair center with the new Touch in hand. The guy turned on the old phone to pull off the contacts and stuff (which it didn't need anyway) and it got as far as the tricolor screen with that $&^#ing "2.31 Coke" on it. All he said was "That's weird" and then we talked about last night's Phillies game. $37.50 later, I was on my way. He even made sure data and everything worked before I left. No insurance, nothing.
