I'm not sure exactly what the problem is...but if a soft reset didn't cure the problem I would then do a hard reset.

Keep in mind that a hard reset will restore your phone to FACTORY SETTINGS. Everything that will be deleted and it will be as if you just got your phone out of the box for the first time.
