Can I tether as a "real" modem?

Hi all, I've seen lots of threads about tethering and 'dial-up modems'. However, I have a need to use a true 'dial up'- I have a paging app that must dial a phone number and exchange data. Instead of getting an analog POTS line, is there a way I can use my 'tethered' mogul (XV6800) as a serial-port modem??

Thanks!
