Where did you get the "SettingsPlus" CAB from? I don't recall seeing that around and cannot help if I am not running it to see what the issue is.
And if it is not working correctly for you, I know the registry can be a scary thing if you are not used to it, but it was a quick and painless change for a cool effect.

I think I got the settingsplus cab either here, or over at xda-developers (I think here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353008).
I'm fine with hacking the reg, I just would prefer not to, since I have the app that is supposed to do it.
