Re: What stays, and what goes?
Well, we’d need to start off with what you have. I have a pretty extensive list of programs (see this post) which I use on a regular basis. I keep my CAB files organized on my SD card pretty well. I have a folder called “Setup Files,” and within that folder, another one called “Required Files.” The list you see in that post mostly fall within the “Required Files” folder. If I ever hard-reset, I know to give those files priority over everything else as I know I’ll need them.
The files that are not in the “Required Files” folder but still in the “Setup Files” folder are mainly CABs that I may need at some point in the future, but have no regular use for. To make sure my phone runs smoothly, I like to keep as few things installed as possible.
You may also want to take a look at this thread. It's good to know what programs should actually be installed on the phone versus what can go on the memory card, since you brought up the memory issue.
