Re: OMJ's WM6.1 Custom Touch ROM w/ UC, GPS, REV A! Updated 5/29/08

Would someone please tell me if my instructions on Post #1 are difficult to understand?

I mean cmon, you guys are killin me....I don't have time to keep repeating myself....I don't know why this is so difficult for some people....if you are starting from scratch, it's as easy as 1-2-3.

1. run the 2.31 unlocker
2. FLASH THE LEAKED SPRINT ROM
3. Flash the custom rom of your choice

note that flashing the leaked sprint rom is an important step!!!

oh and another thing, if you're gonna ask for help, please state which rom you're using, and be specific w/ the steps you've taken...

*stepping off soapbox*

I ran OMJ rom after running cokemans unlocker. but I think I screwed up, I let the "sprint" setup run after the cokeman unlocker. I was able to install the OMJ rom but now im stuck in the htc start up screen. i tryed running the cokeman unlocker again but I get an error that it can not connect. Thanks in advance for all the help!!!
did u flash the leaked sprint rom? my sprint roms do not have carrier customization.

you cannot run the unlocker unless you are booted up....and if you successfully unlocked w/ 2.31, there is no need to run again.

go back into the bootloader (power+camera+soft reset) & reply back w/

1. SPL version (upper left corner)
2. radio & rom version (lower right corner)

My bad....I updated #1....yes it's safe to use.

I can not connect. Is it due to my vzw PRI or the lack of? I can no longer connect to internet. Any help from anyone to get this stored will be greatly appreciated.

Tx
which rom did you flash?

which rom were u using before upgrading your radio? cuz, ALL my roms in my ftp are for the new 3.xx radios only!

running ppst.exe is for sprint only, it is not included in my roms, but is in the leaked sprint rom.

I dont know if they had a specific version for 6.1.....if the one rstoyguy does not work, you can try this one:

that quick launch in the right and the battery meter ... how would i go about getting those back? i'm getting used to the thin battery meter at top and all but i dont need two dates. removing the top date in the registry of course hides volume and part of the signal icon. bummer.
if i remember correctly, you're using the custom.verizon version? to get the battery icon, goto HKLM\software\microsoft\shell....change "showtitlebarclock" to 0, but this will cause the dialpad pop-up issue.

quick launch....I assume you're referring to the upper right corner, which is task manager.....you have to go into quickmenu options to turn off "show battery on taskbar", then go into setting/system to activate task manager.

I am clueless why others would not have this problem. Can you check ?
This is after following your instructions...2.31 unlocker, flash your ROM, allow Sprint customizations to run, hard reset...also ran PPST...all no joy. Why woould Activesync prevent the rebooting?...must be a clue there...Please Advise...Thanks.
did u flash the leaked sprint rom???? which rom of mine did u flash? rstoyguy had a similar issue, he re-downloaded & flashed.

the task mgr app is a stock app, I'm sure it's not the problem.

wish I knew how to make oems want to added touchpal v2, bejeweled, boyzsoftkey, resco and some other stuff I can't find oems for.

The gps seems to work a bit better with v3 I was able to get a lock indoors but it locked up the first time.
you can use this OEM creator to convert cabs into OEMS:

I think mine got messed up when i used touch settings program. everything but the 3d rotate works. It just fades in when sliding up/down and then snaps to the next cube side when sliding left/right.

I guess these settings may be the same for most of these roms - I assume just different colors/icons...but the custom verizon rom is what i used.

i have a backup of the entire registry - but restoring it restarts my phone and doesn't seem to have an effect. maybe there's a way to open that backup and view it to compare? if possible i'll do that too.

thanks.
and thanks again. I finally have my touch in a REALLY good place after many hours of tweaking and setting...all of which was sped up by this wonderful ROM. ... and after that, I have to see why the GPS doesn't seem to get a lock..
copy your registry backup to your pc, then open w/ notepad

those drivers were being used back when we were building roms based on the Alltel rom.....I would not use them....the drivers from the leaked sprint rom work great!
