I send text to email all the time, as well as true MMS. Although things may have changed and CricKet knows it needs to step up its game if they want to come out with commercials that bash the big 4 carriers about costing half as much for everything. I only use my line for text calls and checking my email once in a while. And it does all of that without any trouble.

I didn't mean waiting in line to pay your bill, but when your service gets shut off for a cricket billing error (happened to me a few times) you can't get through to them at all... Their CS line tells you to pay your bill through the automated system, and there's no option to talk to a rep, basically tells you to pay up or hang up... Their CS is a total joke too good luck talking to someone from the US and the calls I had with them were seriously material that could go on a joke site... They read from a script, cannot understand anything you say, and if you try and get them to deviate from the script, good luck... I do however agree that their service is nice at least in the phoenix metro area, people always talked about how bad it was, but I got perfect service around town...
