If anyone with Verizon got GPS to work can you give me a heads up? GPSviewer finds the GPS on com 4, but when I open the GPS it never finds any sats.
Thanks OMJ! Awesome ROM.

I am OMJ's latest custom ROM for VZW and it is working very well. Initial acquire was about 10 minutes and is now about 1 minute after a reset in the morning. Accuracy is quite accurate. I am very happy to have this feature enabled by all of the great ROM work by everyone on this forum and especially OMJ for putting together some great ROMs for everyone's benefit. Thanks OMJ!
After a new rom is installed it can take a bit for the GPS to do an initial acquire. I would recommend that you be outside and let it acquire for as long as necessary. That can mean 5-10 minutes and it will seem like your watching the clock go in slow motion. Once it is done you should have 3+ locks. Now when you reset and start GPS Viewer it "should" be a fairly quick lock. Now, if you try to start inside your house or office it can take a while and may not happen at all. That is the nature if sat signals. They do not penetrate buildings or heavy overhead cover very well. Wood structures are not too bad but concrete and steel are difficult.
I would also enable WAAS for more accuracy. I have copied this from the Garmin site since I know many will ask WAAS what:
Wide Area Augmentation System
How it Works
WAAS consists of approximately 25 ground reference stations positioned across the United States that monitor GPS satellite data. Two master stations, located on either coast, collect data from the reference stations and create a GPS correction message. This correction accounts for GPS satellite orbit and clock drift plus signal delays caused by the atmosphere and ionosphere. The corrected differential message is then broadcast through one of two geostationary satellites, or satellites with a fixed position over the equator. The information is compatible with the basic GPS signal structure, which means any WAAS-enabled GPS receiver can read the signal.
Everyone should remember that GPS capable cell phones were not really designed to be like or have the reliability of standalone GPS units (as we can all see from the battery consumption rate). It is a nice feature that helps many of who need to get someplace and other information.
Sorry for the long'ish post but it is early Saturday and I have to go to work today.
