Oddly enough, if you call #8899 from the phone, they can fix the authentication problem right then and you shouldn't have to type anything in manually.
But as far as what I told them, i simply told them it stopped working... but I was ready to play stupid and tell them I was playing around with the phone and I wasn't sure what I did wrong.
