1) I assume you've tried the newest mtty.exe on your pc (from the 'stuck in bootloader mode' thread). This worked for me this morning when I tried doing a wm6 load this morning, I also hard reset, and basicaly kept trying all those things and GOT IT!
2) If you were on Verizon they would exchange it for you at a store AFTER getting approval from phone tech support. I don,t know about sprint, but with Verizon I ALWAYS get the best answers on replacements by calling NOT by going in...
