Re: 6700 is dead.. advice for upgrade please

I had mine replace at the local SPRINT store.... twice. I dropped the phone a month after I had it and the screen quit working/no display. It took a week to get a replacement (a refurbished phone, you didn't think they'd give you a new one did you? WARRANTY replacement comes from the manufacturer...).

The replacement phone died by itself a couple of weeks after I got it. The RADIO in the phone would not stay on. A HARD RESET sometimes got it to come on for a few minutes but eventually it died altogether. Another phone was ordered and a week later I was back working.

So, I'd go back and get another replacement.

Aside and partial thread hijack: I hate this phone. It is by far the worse PDA phone I have EVER had. Poor volume. Poor ring quality/volume. poor backlight. Slow interface. Bad ergonomics. Terrible phone controls. Terrible battery life even with the extended battery. Terrible range. Always chooses the SPRINT network at a fringe area (can't connect) unless hard setting ROAM mode. Terrible camera. Constant ActiveSync reconnect when connected to the PC (and I hate windows mobile 5.0...I miss the features of the earlier version especially the BACKUP/RESTORE mode of recovery). The only thing I like about it is the slide out keyboard (which was the reason I got it. My bad.) So if you have this phone my sympathies. I'm dumping it (and SPRINT) as soon as my contract is up....and I've been a SPRINT customer for 10 years.
